September is here!

Fall is the season that reminds me that is really is okay to slow down.

Actually following through and doing it isn’t quite as simple, but as Fall officially approaches, and the mornings and evenings begin to cool off, here are a few gentle reminders and practices that can make slowing down feel more doable.

  • Grab an extra layer (cardigan, sweater, sweatshirt): take a moment and enjoy a few slow inhales and exhales.
  • My morning coffee (or your a.m. beverage of choice): Pause. Take a moment for silent prayer, gratitude, checking in with how you are feeling.
  • Set a timer and get up and move away from your desk. If there is a window nearby, make your way there. If you aren’t far from outside, go outside, even for just a minute. You will feel better every time you make the effort.
